Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and ProConf for the use of Kalamo. By using Kalamo or buying a pass or subscription, you accept them.
Who you are agreeing with
Kalamo is operated by Profesionalūs audiovizualiniai sprendimai, MB (Mažoji bendrija (MB), Republic of Lithuania), trading as ProConf, registered in Lithuania. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person or organization using Kalamo.
The service
Kalamo turns live speech into a translation you can read, in the language you choose. It is offered in two ways:
- Personal passes. A short free trial, then timed passes (for example a few hours, a day, or a week) bought without an account.
- Organization plans. Recurring subscriptions and a one-time Event Pass that let an organization run translation rooms for an audience, with optional output to broadcast tools on higher plans.
The exact current options, limits, and prices are shown on the site and at checkout.
Accounts and access
Personal passes are tied to the device or the email you buy with, and can be restored to another device with a one-time link. Organization accounts sign in with one-time email links rather than passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for activity under your account. You must give accurate billing information.
Plans, passes, and billing
- Prices and tax. Prices are shown at checkout in the stated currency and may exclude VAT, which is added where it applies. You authorize us and our payment provider to charge the amount shown.
- Passes are one-time purchases that start when you pay and run continuously for their window, used or not, then simply expire.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period at the then-current price until cancelled. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Plan limits. Plans include generous usage allowances rather than per-listener or per-language charges. We may contact you about fair-use if usage is far outside the intended scope of a plan.
- Invoices are issued by our payment provider and carry the VAT id you supply, so they are suitable for procurement and accounting.
Cancellation and refunds
Kalamo is digital content supplied immediately. When you buy a pass or start a subscription period and begin using it, you ask us to start performance right away and you acknowledge that you therefore lose the standard 14-day right of withdrawal for the part already supplied. This does not affect your statutory rights if the service is faulty. If something went wrong, contact us at kristijonas@proconf.lt and we will deal with it fairly.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Kalamo unlawfully, or to capture or translate audio you do not have the right to capture;
- break the law on recording, privacy, or consent that applies where you are;
- resell, share, or circumvent the limits of a pass or plan, or attempt to access another customer's data;
- probe, overload, or interfere with the service, or misuse it to generate harmful or abusive content;
- remove or obscure any notices, or use Kalamo to build a competing dataset or model.
You are responsible for obtaining any consent that the law where you are requires before translating other people's speech.
Translation accuracy
Kalamo produces automated machine translation. It is built to be highly useful but it is not a certified or human interpreter and can make mistakes. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions. For those, use a qualified human interpreter.
Availability
We work to keep Kalamo available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and "as available" and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may carry out maintenance.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from reliance on a translation. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Kalamo in the three months before the claim.
Intellectual property
Kalamo, its software, and its branding are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms. The transcripts you produce are yours.
Termination
You can stop using Kalamo at any time and cancel a subscription through the billing portal. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or use Kalamo in a way that risks harm or legal exposure. Terms that by their nature should survive (such as liability and governing law) continue after termination.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The current version and effective date are shown at the top. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give reasonable notice. Continuing to use Kalamo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania, and the courts of Lithuania have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to rely on your local law and courts. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
